Elam Ending – Eliminate End-Game Fouling
May 19, 2026
The Elam Ending removes the clock from the end of the game and replaces it with a target score. This eliminates intentional fouling, stalling, and the "hack-a-player" strategy that makes the final minutes of close games unwatchable.
Instead of playing until time expires, teams play to a pre-set target — typically adding a set number of points to whichever team is leading when the clock is turned off.
The result: every possession matters, games end with something memorable, and the incentive to foul late is eliminated entirely.
